When George Stager III was diagnosed with skin cancer he decided to create awareness and help others. At 22 Stager was having the time of his life in New York. A routine trip to the dermatologist changed his life. “My doctor noticed a mole on my back. She decided to run tests and a week later she informed me that the tests came back positive for skin cancer.” Upon his shock and devastation, Stager quickly put a lot in perspective. “The diagnoses made me more aware of what I was doing in life and it also made me a better family member and individual.” He also wanted to create awareness. Last year Stager created an event called SKIN, the more you show the more you know. The purpose was to inform and educate individuals about cancer as well as give back. The event had over 350 attendees, food, a fashion show, charity auction and a wonderful supportive crowd.

This year the awareness continues. Stager, 25, will host the second installment of SKIN at Chen Chow in Birmingham, Michigan. He is excited to have the opportunity to host an annual event. “Attendees can expect amazing food, fashion, DJ Jenna Brown and great gifts for the bid at the silent auction.” The proceeds “will be donated to the Barbara Ann Karmanos Institute.” Life for Stager is purposeful and rewarding. “I feel more blessed than ever. Just remember, whatever you are facing, you will always be able to get through it with God and the support of family and friends.”

Looking forward to a great event, Stager is thankful for his sponsors and supporters including HB Salon, Astute Artistry, Prodigy, Lamborghini Suburban Collection, Vitamin Water, Drew Dawson and Chen Chow for hosting the event.
