Violinist To Deliver a Performance that Spans Periods and Genre

Violinist Michelle Makarski is internationally acclaimed for her expressive rendering of a repertoire from early music to jazz and newly written works. Winner of the Carnegie Hall International American Music Competition, she has been featured in broadcasts, television and film. Her collaboration with pianist Keith Jarrett on the Great Performers Series at Lincoln Center led to her association with ECM Records and a number of award-winning CDs including recitals, jazz and chamber music. BBC Music Magazine's "Who's Who in Music" lists her among the most important contemporary violinists.
Friday, July 11, at 7 & 8:30 p.m, the talented musician will perform as part of the museum's weekly Friday Night Live activities. The DIA is open late every Friday night with live music, art-making workshops, drawing in the galleries, guided tours and more. Activities take place from 6 to 10 p.m. and are free with museum admission.
