Detroit Goes Digital

The gateway to Detroit's Entertainment District will take on a Times Square feel, as Music Hall Center for the Performing Arts presents the virtual ribbon cutting of downtown's first 14' by 48' Digital Broadcast Billboard, on the east wall of the 82 year old historic venue.

This new, 72 dpi beacon of light and images, in the heart of downtown Detroit's Entertainment District will herald the events of an expanding, world-class Downtown playground. This vibrant area is host to millions of people every year, who come to play, eat and enjoy in one of the most culturally diverse and creative cities in North America.

Music Hall President Vince Paul and Team Music Hall have worked diligently for over a year, securing funding and logistics to install this tremendous improvement for the city.
"This big television is more than just a really great marketing instrument", says Paul, "it articulates Detroit's Times Square. What else do you want me to call an area with 2 stadiums, 12 theatres, 25 restaurants and a huge casino?It welcomes each of the 19,000 cars a day into the Entertainment District. Its bright lights create a feeling of excitement and safety. It is just the beginning of a much larger effort to make downtown Detroit one of the most exciting entertainment capitals in America."

The virtual ribbon cutting isThursday, December 4th, at 5:00 PM with a VIP ceremony and soiree until 8:00PM.
